Surin Prepares to Host the Grand “Surin Elephant Songkran Festival 2025″Join the Water Festival with Elephants and Experience Unique Cultural Traditions
Surin Province On April 2, 2025, Mr. Chamnan Chuenta, the Governor of Surin Province together with Ms. Tanyapon Mungcharoenpon, Provincial Administrative Organization President announced a special cultural event during Songkran Festival in Surin, “The Land of Elephants Songkran Festival 2025” which is going to be held at the “King Rama IX 80th Birthday Memorial Park” (Suan Mai), Muang District, Surin Province, between April 11 – 13, 2025.
What you can enjoy during this festival includes;

Day time:
– playing water with elephant
– water tunnel, light tunnel, foam tunnel
– Songkran water blessing ceremony
Night time: (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.)
– “Man and Elephants” light and sound
– The bond between Surin people and their elephants’ ways of life
During this event, you’ll get to enjoy special cultural and fascinating parades starting with 1) elephant Songkran parade, 2) Thai long drum procession 3) elephant parade 4) Thai-Khmer and Kuay ethnic groups cultural parade 5) sound truck parade, and 6) Surin ethnic groups cultural parade. All the parades represent Surin people’s ways of life and the beauty of Songkran Festival. And if you feel hungry or fond of local product shopping, we have such beautiful and unique local products and food from locals available for the whole event!
